We can provide you with regular cultures of your own brewery yeast from our ISO9001-accredited facilities, propagate it in sufficient volume to pitch your brewery propagator and store your strain securely in our cryogenic storage facilities. The Alfred Jørgensen Laboratory offers regular supplies of brewery yeast - we've been doing it since 1881.

All cultures are fully traceable and tracked during shipping. Phytosanitary certificates and other documentation are also provided.

Before dispatching a brewing yeast culture to you we carry out a range of quality assessments, including: checks for foreign contaminants such as wild yeasts and bacteria, checks on colony morphology to assure culture purity, checks on flocculation performance to assure fermentation consistency and checks on DNA composition to assure culture identity.

There's no getting away from it. If your yeast performs poorly, your brewery performs poorly. It affects everyone.

With 850 yeast strains in our collection and hundreds of strain selection and improvement projects under our belt, we're ready and able to help bring a new lease of life to your beer.

With three major industrial yeast collections under our control, with some strains dating back to the 1890s, we have a yeast to fit almost any need. No matter what type of beer you're producing - lager, ale, wheat beer, stout and more - we can select a strain to give you the product you want using the equipment you have.

Our yeast propagation service provides you with the yeast you need when you need it. And it's guaranteed to perform.

We can propagate brewer's yeasts of all types ranging from a few litres to a few hundred litres.

Yeast is grown to order from your culture in our laboratories then shipped to your brewery by courier on ice.

We can propagate ale yeast, stout yeast, lager yeast, wheat beer yeast, specialty (Saccharomycodes) yeasts for non-alcoholic and low-alcohol beers, and yeasts for bottle conditioning, including Brettanomyces strains.

Brewers throughout the world have come to rely on our confidential safe deposit service to protect their brewing yeast.

Yeast strains, selected for the flavours they give to your beer, and the way they behave in your brewing process, must be looked after if their natural tendency to change is to be countered. Preservation and maintenance of industrial yeast strains is an important job. It needs a high degree of technical skill and the right equipment.

We store our yeast cultures at  -196oC in liquid nitrogen - one culture in the UK, a second culture in Denmark. All yeast strains are held confidentially for the exclusive use of the depositor.
