GENERAL MANAGER

ROLE SCOPE
To lead the production management team and be responsible for all day to day operations on-site at Leatherhead.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Management of Team Leaders and staff within the Leatherhead facility
1. Effective leadership of production team leaders; direct and coordinate activities of departments concerned with the production and distribution of products
2. Identification and implementation of business process improvements to achieve on-giong efficiency and reduce costs
Management of Logistics team
3. A vital role managing the team who dispatch and track AROXA™ flavour standards and yeast
4. Ensure that the logistics team are always getting products out to customers within set timescales
5. Report of information to business owners regarding timescales for delivery and associated costs
6. Ensure that the logistics team negotiate and get the best prices for courier and outer packaging costs
Management of Administration
7. Accounts - Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement
8. Oversee the timely production of management reports, payroll, sales and purchase ledger, budgets payment
9. Ensure that invoicing and credit control is managed - reduce number of days between invoicing and payment
10. Human Resources - Oversee all HR activities ensuring the business has the right people with the right skills in place to achieve the business plan and personnel are retained and encouraged to develop within the business
Facilities Management
11. Management of operational space to support Company's expected growth in next 10 years
12. Liaison with property owners/building managers to build and maintain good relationships to ensure that the business runs smoothly
13. Negotiate and control contracts for electricity, telephone costs, service contracts and other items associated with the running of the Leatherhead premises and the laboratories within our space
14. Plan and manage on-site and off-site storage
Reporting to company owners
15. Ensure that the targets set by the business owners are achieved
16. Regular reporting against business targets set for the Company and for each team ensuring all personal development targets are aligned with the Company's business targets
17. Work with the Company owners to improve business processes and efficiency
Customer/Supplier focus
18. Report to and liaise with key account holders
19. Manage commercial contracts and proposals; ensure all contracts are in place and renewed
Overall Responsibilities
20. Administer daily operations
21. Create, review and implement business procedures
22. Administer daily operations
23. Work with department heads
24. Manage financial budgets and ensure they meet the targets set by Managing Director
25. Take care of Company expenditure and bills
26. Manage Company property such as telecommunication devices, laptops and laboratory equipment
27. Handle business procurements for Leatherhead office
28. Execute daily meetings ensuring that the business is run efficiently

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
Proven track record in a management role
Background ideally in a scientific role
Experience with quality systems such as ISO
Desirable
Languages an advantage
Qualification in business administration
Familiriating with quality standards such as ISO 9001; 2008; ISO 17025
