YeastSureTM assured brewery yeast strain supply service
Why have someone else prepare your brewing yeast cultures when you could do it yourself?
Preparation of brewery yeast cultures, used to initiate yeast propagation in a single brewery or a group of breweries looks deceptively simple. Transfer a portion of culture from a master culture to make a daughter culture under axenic conditions, label them correctly, then transport them securely under temperature-controlled conditions to their destination. What could possibly go wrong? Actually, a lot! Contamination of one or more of the yeast cultures with foreign microorganisms (yeast or bacteria), mutation of the brewery yeast, exposure of the brewery yeast cells to extreme conditions, growth on poor microbiological media, contamination of the yeast culture with non-food-grade substances and - perhaps worst of all - a complete mix of of the brewery yeast culture, with the wrong strain of yeast being used. We've seen it all.
The Alfred Jørgensen Laboratory has been supplying breweries all over the world with regular replacement cultures of their brewing yeast since 1881. Why not avoid all the potential hazards and let us do it for you?
We can:
-
Provide you with a regular supply of quality assured brewing yeast cultures as agar slopes, liquid yeast or ultra-pure dried brewer's yeast
-
Take care of all documentation connected with brewing yeast culture quality
-
Provide phytosanitary certificates and other statutory documentation for your brewery yeast cultures
-
Assure full traceability and tracking of all brewery yeast cultures
Before dispatching a brewing yeast culture to you we carry out a range of quality assessments, including:
-
Checks for foreign contaminants such as wild yeasts and bacteria
-
Checks on colony morphology to assure yeast culture purity
-
Checks on flocculation performance to assure fermentation consistency of the brewery yeast
-
Checks on DNA composition to assure yeast culture identity
Cultures are shipping either on ice or under temperature-controlled conditions to eliminate the risk of deterioration during transit.
You can be sure that when you receive a yeast culture from us that it's the right strain, in the right condition, and free of foreign microorganisms.
What does it cost to have my yeast supplied by you?
We operate two levels of pricing - one for assured supply of your own cultures (held on your behalf in our YeatBankTM safe deposit service for brewer's yeast) the other for supply of proprietary strains from our Alfred Jørgensen Laboratory collection. Yeast supply is undertaken on an annual contract basis as per the pricing below.
